Play

SHOW NOTES:

  • Brian’s comics work is here, including Wishful Stinking, The Basics, Rockenstein, Loud Boy, The Stuff of Legend and The Intrepid EscapeGoat

  • Brian mentioned a couple of projects he worked on that haven’t, as yet, become…bigger things. Here’s some art from NEXT DOOR NINJA and TREE MAIL, two of the many, many concepts with amazing names/titles Brian’s got in his head.
  • Brian’s writing volumes of the Viz Kids VOLTRON FORCE graphic novel series. The first volume is illustrated by Jacob Chabot (who drew the cover below).

  • Brian’s also written some comics for Chick-Fil-A’s kids meals featuring their cow heroes, including DECIBELL, illustrated by SUPER DINOSAUR’s Jason Howard, who Smitty met at a convention just before leaving Marvel Comics.

  • And finally, here are what exists of the round robin-format comic that Brian, Chris Giarrusso and I started by never finished…you can see, as of page seven the wheels start to come off the bus when Brian hadn’t quite gotten his page past the rough stage (NOTE: the following pages contain “mature language”, AKA swears and/or cussing):
  • “(theme for) Stuff Said” by Craig Chin (also on Soundcloud)
  • Additional Music: “She is Staggering” by Polaris, “Mongoose” by Fu Manchu, “You May be Right” by Billy Joel

  1. Jacob Chabot says:

Some years ago, I scanned the Bullpen Round Robins (that I had access to anyway) and put them online. By some miracle, it’s still up. The one where everyone gets superpowers is called “The Day.”
